Sari attended Oklahoma State University, University of Tulsa, San Antonio College, University of Texas at El Paso, and Lamar University. She worked at obtaining her bachelor’s degree while raising her family. During frequent moves she has accumulated the required number of hours for graduation but with differing requirements at each school, she is still after the allusive degree.
Sari moved to Beaumont in 1984. Since that time she has worked as office manager in a physician’s office, for six years was designer and owner of her own wholesale pottery business, and was employed as office manager for a local advertising agency before coming to Wathen DeShong & Juncker.
She is active in her church, and serves as the business manager of her husband Steve’s business. She continues designing and selling original pottery from her own website, on eBay, at area locations and from other web-based businesses. She has two grown sons. The oldest, Matthew Baker, lives in Houston, is employed with Verizon in the computer hardware maintenance department. He and his wife Tiffany have two daughters. Neil Baker, Sari’s youngest son, is a data analyst for Dell Computers. He and his wife Misty live in Austin and have a 1 year-old son.
Sari answers the multi-line phone system, aids clients when they come to the office, assists with tax return processing, banking for the firm, receipt and distribution of in-coming faxes, vault maintenance including record retention decisions, accounts receivable collections, and all mailing responsibilities.
