Tessa began working for Leonard Juncker as a part-time receptionist in February of 1998. Shortly after beginning her career, Tessa was selected for a position with Dial-A-Check Payroll Service. Dial-A-Check Payroll service became an integral part of WDJ when Leonard Juncker merged his accounting practice with then named, Wathen, DeShong and Company. Tessa is now the backbone of the Dial-A-Check Payroll Service, and she has assisted a wide variety of employers across Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana with all their payroll needs. Through her years of operating the Dial-A-Check Payroll Service, Tessa has gained experience in all areas of payroll processing including quarterly and year-end payroll tax preparation. Throughout both hurricanes Rita and Ike, Tessa worked using a generator so that literally hundreds of Southeast Texans had their paycheck.

Tessa was raised in Lumberton, Texas. She and her husband, Tommy have celebrated 17 years of marriage. Tommy is a Marine Agent for Norton Lilly International. Tessa and Tommy are the proud parents of a 13 year old daughter, Tayler. Tayler is a multi-sport athlete and is a member of the National Junior Honor Society. Tessa recently witnessed Tayler winning a local golf tournament. The family enjoys their time together traveling, camping, boating and taking part in Tayler’s competitive soccer team. Tessa has competed in various fitness competitions in the greater Houston and Dallas areas and has earned first place in both her height division and the overall.

Tessa’s current job duties for WDJ and Dial-A-Check Payroll are:

  • Payroll preparation for over 60 employers
  • Electronic transmission of tax liability payments for 30 employers
  • Direct deposit of payroll for over 20 employers
  • Invoicing all of Dial-A-Check’s clients
  • Accounts receivable maintenance and collection for Dial-A-Check’s clients
  • Processing and electronically filing quarterly and annual payroll returns
  • New Hire Reporting with the Texas Workforce Commission
  • Answering a multi-line phone system
  • Assists with greeting clients at the front desk
  • Assists with income tax processing for WDJ individual and business clients
