Debby graduated from Southwest Missouri State University, in Springfield, Missouri, in July 1983, with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. Debby has had the opportunity to work in various positions. She began as a bookkeeper in Springfield, Missouri, worked as the Controller of a leasing company in Akron, Ohio and as a staff accountant in Wilmington, DE. Debby first came to work for Wathen, DeShong & Juncker as a staff accountant in 1997. She then moved to Delaware for four years, before coming back to Southeast Texas and subsequently becoming a member of the firm again in 2004.
Debby is currently a Manager and assists the firm with:
- Corporate and Individual tax return preparation/reviewing/signing
- Auditing procedures
- Audits of Employee Benefit Plans
- Financial statement preparation
- Payroll tax return preparer and supervisor
- QuickBooks implementation
Debby is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Texas Society of CPAs. She currently serves on the company’s tax committee. She also actively serves her community and volunteers her time in her church, Creekwood Baptist Church. She has been a QuickBooks Pro Advisor since 2004.
